Hari-dhama carries out a variety of services including communications
consultant and trainer in India, Europe and the UK.
Hari-darma is married to Gavesi Devi Dasi, a German devotee, and lives
in Sydenham, London. They have a daughter, Sandhya, born in 2000. He joined
ISKCON in 1985, and was initiated by Mukunda Goswami in India, 1995, gaining
brahmin (second) initiation in 2002.
Hari-dhama has worked in the hospice movement as a spiritual care counsellor
for the last 8 years whilst researching the spiritual needs of dying Hindu
patients and bereaved families. In 2001, he helped with relief work amongst
the Gujarat earthquake victims in India. In 2002, he founded a registered
mental health charity, and still acts as its chief executive. He was recently
appointed as a Vaisnava on-call chaplain to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Trust.
Born 1957 as Henry T. Dom in South-Africa, Hari-Dhama came to England
in 1985 as a refugee, becoming a British citizen in 2001. He had previously
worked as an actor for stage, film and broadcast TV, and as a journalist
and university lecturer. After joining ISKCON, he did communications work
in India with the 1996 Srila Prabhupada Centennial celebrations, then
the Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mumbai.
