Bhakta
Tim McEvitt
Bhakta Tim is from Dublin, and was born in 1975. A month before his 18th
birthday he was wandering around Dublin on a Saturday afternoon when he
chanced to come across the 'Hare Krishna Cultural Centre', which had been
opened by His Grace Tribuvanatha Dasa Brahmachari
a few months earlier.
He was initially drawn in and attracted by the great literary work, the
Bhagavad Gita, a copy of which had been placed prominently in the shop
window.
Tim has performed a variety of voluntary work for the Hare Krishna Movement
since then: office work, communications, temple administration, literature
distribution and organising events.
He is based at the Govindadwipa
temple, situated on a 22-acre lake island in Co. Fermanagh, in the
north of Ireland. He loves the lakeland atmosphere, fresh air and the
health benefits from living surrounded by indigenous woodland.
