Hare Krishna devotees from all over England helped add a spiritual dimension to the Glastonbury 2000 festival, which was held over the long weekend 22-25 June...

Perhaps it is telling that two enduring images were selected to be featured side-by-side on postcards for sale at this years Glastonbury festival: Laughing, mud-covered Glasto- campers and smiling devotees on harinam around the festival site.

This year proved no exception to previous years for the devotees as around fifty of them held harinams several times daily with kirtans in our large tent continuing through the night until four in the morning.

Cooking on a wood fire set in the ground, Parasurama fed thousands three times a day.

At the end, 17,000 plates of rice, subji, and halavah had been given out to hungry people, some of whom had waited an hour or more for the privilege. If each person who has been touched by the devotees' kindness and cheer merely tells three others, what a singularly important event this one festival has been.

Parasurama has also been helping out with the preparation of delicious prasadam for the festivals recently held in Bournemouth, Brighton, Norwich and Swindon. Forthcoming festivals are to be held in Chelmsford (September) and Southampton (October).
