Jagannatha at first Bhaktivedanta Manor Snana Yatra

In the runnup to London Rathayatra 2002, Sunday 9th June saw a unique event - Lord Jagannatha returned to Bhaktivedanta manor after an absence of more than 20 years!

Snana Yatra is the bathing ceremony of Lord Jaganatha prior to Rathayatra.

After a wonderful class by His Grace Krishna Ksetra Dasa, devotees walked down the Manor's drive, Dharam Marg to greet Their Lordships.

The divine trio (Jagannatha and His divine siblings Baladeva and Subadra) arrived in a georgeous Daimler, lent for the occasion, and chauferred by bhakta Terry.

Aound a hundred devotees greeted them.

On arrival at the festival tent, Gadarhara supervised pujaris carrying Them to the altar.

Devotees queued to bathe Jagannatha with milk, yoghurt and honey.

Srila Prabhupada looks on.

And finally, the most amazing thing! A devotee of Lord Ganesh must be here! Lord Jagannatha has transformed Himself in the most unusual way with an elephant's trunk to please His devotees! Krishna Ksetra dasa, ISKCON Deity Worship Minister, offers arati.

After Their Lordships departed, the Manor devotees served a fantastic feast.

Everyone enjoyed the occasion immensely, which had been organised by Titiksu dasa, and agreed that it should become an annual event.

Sri Jagannatha Baladeva Subhadra Ki Jai!
